On Jan. 29, over 400 individuals laced up their running shoes to join the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington for the 2017 Walk for Alzheimer’s.
The indoor walk took place at four locations throughout Waterloo Wellington – Old Quebec St Shoppes in Guelph, Mount Forest & District Sports Complex, Waterloo Recreation Complex and Cambridge Centre Mall.
Individuals and teams participated, and with walkers, sponsors and donors collectively raised $120,000 across the region.
Donations will continue to be accepted until the end of February. All funds raised stay in the community and support Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington.
“The 2017 walk was a big success – everyone who came out and participated had a great time.” says Michelle Martin, executive director.
“This year we raised over $120,000 in one day, and with donations still being accepted until the end of February, we are confident we can achieve our goal.”
